Native English Classes and Various Leisure Sports Activities
Ulleung County in North Gyeongsang Province conducted a four-night, five-day 'Youth English Marine Exploration Camp' from August 3 to August 7, targeting approximately 20 sixth-grade elementary school students in the region. The camp combined English education with marine experiences.
The Youth English Exploration Camp is a residential English immersion program. This year, to operate a converged program incorporating marine sports, it was held at the Uljin Marine Leisure Sports Center.

Moving away from traditional lecture-based English classes, the camp provided immersive daily English education led by native-speaking instructors. It also featured marine leisure programs that included various sports activities such as snorkeling and marine plogging. Through these activities, participating students had a valuable opportunity to naturally acquire English in a diverse natural environment.
County Governor Nam Han-gwon stated, "I expect that by experiencing English learning combined with marine leisure sports during this camp, students were able to broaden their perspectives and enhance their learning capabilities." He added, "Ulleung County will continue to implement educational policies to foster global talent, such as expanding opportunities for English immersion camps and overseas language training."
