Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province will expand the nighttime opening of Aegibong Peace Ecological Park from once a month to once a week.

According to Gimpo City on August 7, the city will extend the park's operation to once a week from August 9 to September 28, for approximately two months. The city expects this move to boost not only the local economy but also the overall regional tourism ecosystem.

With this extended schedule, the park will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in August, and from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in September.

Gimpo City stated that it adjusted the operating hours after discussions and consultations with the 2nd Marine Division, taking sunset times into account. The city also reflected the military's opinions to establish a safe and orderly management plan.

Additionally, shuttle bus service will also be extended until closing time during the extended operation period. The Starbucks cafe located within Aegibong will operate until 6:30 p.m. in August and until 5:30 p.m. in September, in consideration of the park's closing hours.

A Gimpo City official said, "Gimpo City is working to revitalize nearby tourist attractions such as Daemyeonghang Port and the Warship Park, in addition to Aegibong. Moving forward, we are determined to fully promote tourism in northern Gimpo so that visitors can enjoy the night view at Aegibong, as well as have a delicious dinner at nearby restaurants, making the most of their time in Gimpo."

Meanwhile, separate from the temporary extended operation, a special cultural event at Aegibong is scheduled for the last Saturday of every month. On those event days, the park's closing time will be extended to 8:00 p.m.
