iM Bank Expands 'Mobile Branch' Services for the Financially Underserved

iM Bank announced that it is expanding its 'mobile branch' activities to support offline branches and improve financial accessibility for the financially underserved.

The vehicle-based mobile branches, first introduced in 2008, currently operate a total of three units. Each is equipped with financial terminals and automated teller machines (ATMs), and they carry out a range of customer-focused activities, including visiting financial blind spots, supporting local events, and assisting branch operations. In particular, since transitioning to a commercial bank, the scope of mobile branch services has expanded. The third mobile branch, introduced with this in mind, is being used for on-site financial education, branch support, and participation in local events.

Recently, the mobile branch visited the Dalseo-gu Senior Welfare Center in Daegu, where it provided voice phishing prevention education, digital finance education, and guidance on using digital devices through the mobile branch for senior citizens.

After providing digital finance education, including instructions on how to use mobile banking and install voice phishing blocking apps, the bank also offered hands-on demonstrations and practice sessions for seniors on how to use ATMs.

As part of its branch support activities, iM Bank assisted the 'Gunwi Love Five-Day Market Digital Branch.' Located across from Gunwi Traditional Market in North Gyeongsang Province, the 'Gunwi Love Five-Day Market Digital Branch' operates as a self-service branch with one kiosk (STM) and one ATM. On market days, which are held on the 3rd and 8th of every month, bank staff visit the branch in person to provide face-to-face financial services to local residents. In August, the mobile branch participated in the market day to help ensure smooth financial support. The bank also plans to consider flexible support using the mobile branch for local residents' convenience, including services such as DaeguRopey in the future.

A representative from the iM Bank mobile branch stated, "The iM mobile branch regularly visits and supports financial operations in areas with a high concentration of elderly customers and other financial blind spots, and we are pursuing various initiatives to improve financial accessibility. We will continue to explore diverse ways to enhance financial convenience for customers who are weary from the summer heat."
