A driver was apprehended by local police for exceeding the speed limit while driving on Germany's Autobahn highway. The vehicle was traveling at 320 km/h, not only surpassing the 120 km/h speed limit but also setting a record for the highest speed ever recorded.

On August 6 (local time), the Associated Press reported, citing German police, that "a driver was caught traveling at over 320 km/h on the Autobahn west of Berlin." The unidentified driver was apprehended on July 28 while racing along the A2 highway.

The Magdeburg Police Department imposed a fine of 900 euros (1.45 million won) on the driver and suspended the driver's license for three months. The driver was detected by a roadside radar stand, known as a 'speed enforcement trailer,' during a routine inspection. At that moment, the radar display recorded a 'highest record' of 321 km/h.

The Autobahn, which has attracted global attention for operating without speed limits, does not have unrestricted speed on all sections, contrary to its reputation. Certain sections impose a speed limit of 120 km/h due to safety risks and environmental protection concerns, and the section where the driver was caught also has a 120 km/h speed limit.
