The mid-sized business sector expressed strong support on August 7 for the government's announcement of the "Regional Revitalization and Win-Win Consumption Promotion Plan."
The Korea Federation of Middle Market Enterprises stated in a commentary that day, "We deeply sympathize with the government's determination to establish and swiftly implement a comprehensive livelihood support plan, which serves as a priming force for reviving the vitality of people's livelihoods?the foundation of the economy?and for restoring regional economies that have deteriorated to the point of concern over extinction."
The federation went on to say, "The decision to promote expanded regional consumption is the most direct and effective means of restoring livelihoods, and we believe it can yield meaningful results." It added, "To ensure that the resolution of the United States mutual tariff negotiations, which has alleviated some economic uncertainty, becomes a solid turning point for overcoming the crisis and reigniting economic growth, it is necessary to seek fundamental policy innovation that strengthens the competitiveness of businesses as the core drivers of the economy, following the stabilization of livelihoods."
The federation also stated, "The mid-sized business sector will faithfully fulfill its social responsibilities as a key driver of balanced national development and sustainable growth, by expanding investment and markets, and by creating more quality jobs, all based on solidarity and trust within the community fostered by the spread of win-win consumption."
