Paju City Holds Briefing Session
on Mobility Improvement Plan Establishment Project

Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on August 7 that it held a briefing session on August 6 to promote the 'Paju City Mobility Improvement Plan Establishment Project' for future transportation innovation in Paju City.

The briefing session was attended by Kim Kyungil, mayor of Paju City, and representatives from the project contractor. Participants discussed the vision of "Warm Transportation Innovation Connecting People and Regions," focusing on several key topics: the direction for advancing autonomous vehicles, urban air mobility, and integrated transportation services; the current status and improvement plans for demand-responsive buses such as Ttokbus, personal mobility devices, and drones; and strategies for specialized mobility education development linked to pilot projects in designated education advancement zones.


This project, carried out in accordance with the 'Act on the Support for Mobility Innovation and Revitalization,' began in March and is scheduled for completion in February next year. The city plans to use this initiative to establish a future-oriented mobility system that will improve the quality of life for citizens and contribute to regional growth.


Kim Kyungil, mayor of Paju City, stated, "Introducing new mobility solutions is inevitable for Paju City as we prepare for changes in the transportation system brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution and aim to become a self-sufficient city of one million residents." He added, "We will do our utmost to thoroughly analyze local conditions and issues so that Paju City can be reborn as a place that offers both convenient mobility and a high quality of life."
