Kiaf SEOUL 2025, the largest art fair in Korea, will be held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul from September 3 to 7, 2025, under the theme of "Resonance." In collaboration with Frieze Seoul and various domestic and international art institutions, the event will offer a special opportunity to connect through art via a diverse range of programs. Last month, the limited joint discount tickets for "Kiaf Seoul-Frieze Seoul" sold out all 1,250 tickets within just two days, demonstrating a high level of interest.

Kiaf SEOUL, the nation's largest art fair, has continuously developed various collaborative programs to transform the art fair period into a festival jointly created by the Korean art community. This year, under the theme of "Resonance," the fair has strengthened its cooperation with the government, Frieze Seoul, and cultural and art institutions to build a sustainable art ecosystem.


Special exhibitions have been arranged at the airport and throughout the city center. There are also programs for late-night openings at local galleries and classical music concerts.


Collaborative Exhibitions with Incheon Airport and MediaArt SEOUL

The special exhibition "WeConnect, Art & Future, Kiaf and INCHEON AIRPORT," jointly organized by Kiaf and Incheon International Airport, will be held at the Millennium Hall of Incheon International Airport from August 22 to September 17. Ten leading domestic galleries participating in Kiaf SEOUL 2025 will take part, presenting over 50 works by more than 20 artists. The exhibition encompasses not only works that go beyond traditional painting materials by experimenting with charcoal, mechanical pencil leads, and incense, but also includes a wide range of media such as photography and sculpture.


The participating galleries are: Gallery Grimson (Lee Jaesam), Date Gallery (Yoon Sangryul), Gallery We (Choi Hana, Heo Pilseok), Noh Gallery (Yoon Byungrak), Sun Gallery (Lee Gilwoo), Space Namu_Gallery Aurora (Park Soohyung, Son Mongju), Geumsan Gallery (Yoon Pilhyun, Kun), Dongwon Gallery (Byun Miyeong, Yang Sunghoon), Kimreah Gallery (Park Taehun), and Gallery Now (Ko Sangwoo).


Kiaf SEOUL is also collaborating with Seoul's representative urban exhibition platform, "MediaArt SEOUL," to present a large-scale media art project that will transform the city of Seoul into a vast canvas. From September 1 to 19, the exhibition will be screened simultaneously at major locations in downtown Seoul, including Shinsegae Square, Digital Chosun Ilbo, Atelier Gwanghwa, and Haechimadang Media Wall, every hour. Works by notable artists such as generative media artist Seo Hyojeong, Choi Suin, and Kim Jaewook will be on display, offering new artistic interpretations of Seoul's everyday urban landscapes.


Kiaf Art Week: Hannam (9/2), Cheongdam (9/3), Samcheong (9/4) Nights

During Kiaf Art Week, galleries located in Hannam, Cheongdam, and Samcheong-dong will open late into the night for art enthusiasts and the general public.


On September 2, "Hannam Night" will feature late-night exhibition viewing opportunities at Gana Art, Gallery SP, Gallery Joeun, and Leeum Museum of Art. On September 3, "Cheongdam Night" will offer artist talks, late-night art appreciation sessions, exhibition previews, and cocktail parties, with participating galleries including Gaia Gallery, Gallery Graph, Kimreah Gallery, Gallery Planet, Gallery We, and Gallery Peach.


The largest number of galleries will participate in "Samcheong Night" on September 4, with late-night exhibitions, DJ performances, cocktail parties, artist talks, and live performances at Kukje Gallery, Gallery Hyundai, Gallery Jinsun, Art Sonje Center, and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. Meanwhile, at the Shilla Hotel Yeongbingwan, Kiaf's lead media partner Marie Claire will host an Art Day event. Set against the backdrop of an outdoor lawn, the event will feature an art talk and media art exhibition with artist Kim Euljiro and ten artists selected for 2025 Kiaf HIGHLIGHTS, as well as DJing and live music performances.


Kiaf Classic...An Art Fair to "Experience"

The first part of "Kiaf Classic" will feature Korea's leading pianist Yekwon Sunwoo performing Kreisler-Rachmaninoff's "Liebesleid," Schumann-Liszt's "Widmung," and Rachmaninoff's representative piano work "Six Moments Musicaux," delivering a profound sense of romanticism. In the second part, Yekwon Sunwoo and the internationally acclaimed young string quartet Arete Quartet will take the stage together to perform Dvorak's "Piano Quintet in A major."


An official from the Galleries Association of Korea, which organizes Kiaf, stated, "This year as well, we will be conducting collaborative programs throughout the city to connect with many people through art," adding, "We hope everyone will enjoy and actively participate in the new artistic trends unfolding across Seoul during 'Kiaf Art Week.'"
