Yeoju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on August 6 that it has been implementing a pilot project for the 'Anyone Care Home Visit Medical Service' since August 1.

The 'Anyone Care Home Visit Medical Service' is designed to guarantee basic medical accessibility for citizens who have difficulty moving around and do not have family members to provide care, making it hard for them to use medical institutions. Medical professionals from designated service providers, Sarang Korean Medicine Clinic and Woori Korean Medicine Clinic (both located in Yeoju City), visit the households of eligible individuals to provide basic medical consultations and check their health status. Each person can use the service up to twice a month (a total of four times) within 60 days from the application date. Depending on income level, the city supports all or part of the out-of-pocket medical expenses (consultation fees) within an annual limit of 1.5 million won.

The Yeoju City 'Anyone Care Service' has been supplementing existing care services since June, providing care in four areas (daily living, companionship, housing, and meals) for citizens experiencing difficulties in their daily lives. As of the end of July, 36 people have used the service through six service providers (including one provider counted twice).

By implementing the pilot project for home visit medical services, Yeoju City expects to improve access to medical services for vulnerable groups such as those with mobility difficulties. The city also anticipates that this will serve as an opportunity to establish a seamless care system that allows residents to receive medical services in their own homes.
