As the peak summer vacation season begins, Naju City in South Jeolla Province has rolled up its sleeves to ensure food safety for tourists visiting the region.

On August 4 and 5, Naju City, in collaboration with the Naju Office of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, conducted origin labeling inspections focused on traditional markets and restaurants in the area, including Naju Moksago-eul Market and Yeongsanpo Pungmul Market.

This inspection focused on several areas: whether origin labeling requirements were being fulfilled, whether the labeling methods were appropriate, whether there were any false or misleading origin labels, and whether there were any cases of disguising or mixing origins in sales.

Minor violations were immediately corrected on site, while serious violations will be subject to administrative actions such as fines in accordance with relevant laws.

An official from Naju City stated, "We will strive to ensure proper origin labeling in order to create a food environment that consumers can trust."
