Ha Jungwoo Announces Outcomes of AI Cooperation Talks with White House

Ha Jungwoo, Chief of AI Future Planning at the Presidential Office, met with Michael Kratsios, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), on the 4th to discuss measures for AI cooperation between the two countries.
Ha made this announcement in a written briefing on the 6th.
During the discussion, Ha stated that the Korean government confirmed the recently announced U.S. AI Action Plan, as well as the U.S. policy on AI technology exports that follows from it.
It was also reported that the two sides held positive discussions on close cooperation in areas such as manufacturing AI, open source, scientific AI, AI data centers, and energy.
The meeting between Ha and Kratsios took place on the occasion of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Digital and AI Ministerial Meeting.
On the Korean side, Ha was joined by Kim Woochang, Secretary for National AI Policy, and Song Kiho, Secretary for Economic Security. On the U.S. side, Jeffrey Kessler, Assistant Secretary for Export Administration at the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, was also present.
