The special prosecutor's team led by Min Jungki has officially begun its investigation after summoning Kim Gunhee as a suspect.
The special prosecutor's team started questioning Kim at approximately 10:23 a.m. on the 6th, concluded the morning session after about an hour and 30 minutes, and then resumed the investigation at 1:00 p.m. Kim had lunch with a boxed meal prepared in advance by security staff.
Kim appeared at the special prosecutor's office set up at KT Gwanghwamun Building West in Jongno-gu, Seoul, at around 10:11 a.m. that day. The special prosecutor's team began the investigation without a separate tea break, and it is reported that the morning session focused on verifying Kim's personal details and other basic information.
On this day, the special prosecutor's team is focusing on investigating the following allegations: manipulation of Deutsch Motors stock prices, alleged involvement in Myung Taegyun's nomination process, and allegations of improper solicitation involving Geonjinbeopsa.
Although the investigation is not expected to continue late into the night, the special prosecutor's office stated that the questioning would not conclude as early as 6:00 p.m. If questioning is to continue past 9:00 p.m., the consent of the person involved must be obtained.
Since only some of the 16 allegations against Kim are being addressed in this session, it appears inevitable that she will be summoned again for further questioning regarding other incidents, such as the Sambutogeon stock manipulation case.
