Child welfare organization ChildFund Korea (Chairman Hwang Youngki) announced on August 5 that it held the "Start! Pension Expedition, Pension Golden Bell" event together with the National Pension Service and the National Pension Sharing Foundation, with children participating in the activities.

Now in its fourth year, "Start! Pension Expedition, Pension Golden Bell" is a quiz-based educational program designed to help children better understand the National Pension and the broader social security system. For the past three years, the event was held online, but this year, in collaboration with ChildFund Korea, it was expanded to a hybrid format combining both online and offline participation.

This year’s event saw 240 children, selected as finalists from among 1,200 children affiliated with 60 local child centers nationwide, participate after completing preliminary learning through workbooks and YouTube videos and passing a qualifying round.

Participants solved questions of varying difficulty levels, thereby deepening their understanding of the National Pension and various social security systems. Key attendees, including ChildFund Korea Chairman Hwang Youngki, personally presented quiz questions and engaged with the children. The final winner received a commendation from the Chairman of the National Pension Service and a scholarship of 300,000 won. In addition, a range of programs, such as a tour of the National Pension Service, photo wall sessions, and interactive booths, were offered for the children attending the event, including both participants and visitors.

Kim Taehyun, Chairman of the National Pension Service, stated, "Now in its fourth year, the Pension Golden Bell is helping to raise awareness of social security systems among many children," adding, "Next year, we plan to operate an even more expanded experiential program."

Kang Heunggu, Chairman of the National Pension Sharing Foundation, said, "Through this Pension Golden Bell event, I am very pleased that children were able to understand the National Pension system easily and enjoyably, and experience the values of sharing and consideration. We will continue to actively support the growth of future generations as healthy members of society through ongoing cooperation with ChildFund Korea."

Hwang Youngki, Chairman of ChildFund Korea, commented, "I hope today’s event has helped everyone, including the children, better understand and enjoyably remember the National Pension system. We will continue our efforts to provide diverse experiences and opportunities so that all children can grow up happily and responsibly."
