On August 5, the Yeoncheon County Council in Gyeonggi Province, chaired by Kim Mikyung, convened its 293rd extraordinary session and began the first plenary meeting. The session is scheduled to run for four days until August 8.

During this extraordinary session, a total of 12 agenda items will be reviewed. These include five proposals submitted by council members, such as the "Ordinance on Supporting Safety Facilities to Prevent Electrical Fires in Buildings Used by Vulnerable Groups in Yeoncheon County" (proposed by Councilor Park Youngcheol), and the "Agreement on Sisterhood Ties between Yeoncheon County Council and Gangnam District Council of Seoul" (proposed by Councilor Park Yanghee). Additionally, there are seven proposals submitted by the Yeoncheon County Governor, including the "Partial Amendment Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of the Yeoncheon County Agricultural Machinery Rental Business Center."
Before the plenary session, Councilors Park Woonseo, Park Yanghee, Yoon Jaegu, and Park Youngcheol delivered five-minute free speeches, presenting various policy alternatives related to local issues and suggesting directions for the development of county administration.
Kim Mikyung, the chairperson, emphasized, "We must thoroughly prepare for the ongoing heavy rains during the summer and do our utmost to protect the safety of our residents." She also urged, "Please ensure that budgets closely related to residents' daily lives are processed smoothly through substantive discussions," as she concluded the first plenary meeting of the 295th extraordinary session of the Yeoncheon County Council.
