Hanam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Hyunjae) is offering a special opportunity for expectant mothers and fathers to come together and prepare for childbirth. The Hanam City Public Health Center's Gam-il Health Lifestyle Support Center announced on the 5th that it will hold a 'Prenatal Couple Yoga One-Day Class' for couples on August 22, 25, and 29, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, for a total of three sessions.

The purpose of this program is to help pregnant women and their partners experience prenatal yoga together, to foster understanding of changes during pregnancy, and to assist in preparing for childbirth.

The main content includes: understanding physical changes during pregnancy and the roles of both partners; practicing breathing and relaxation techniques for childbirth; and couple yoga exercises. A total of 18 couples, with 6 couples participating per session, are expected to join the program.

In particular, this program is scheduled for weekday evenings to accommodate the needs and requests of working couples who find it difficult to participate during the day. Hanam City hopes that this will expand practical participation opportunities and promote a culture of prenatal education shared by both partners.

Applications for the program are being accepted via Naver Form until August 11. After a random selection process, final participants will be notified individually by text message on August 13.

Mayor Lee Hyunjae of Hanam City stated, "The experience of preparing for childbirth together helps reduce anxiety for expectant mothers and contributes to creating a positive parenting environment after birth. I hope this class will be an opportunity for couples to prepare together for the journey of childbirth and parenting, deepening their understanding and bond with each other."

Meanwhile, after the program concludes, a satisfaction survey will be conducted among participants to consider whether to operate the program regularly in the future.
