Minister Jeong Eun-kyeong to Visit Buk-gu, Gwangju on August 6

On-site Inspection of the Pilot Primary Care Physician Program and Integrated Care Operations

Minister of Health and Welfare Jeong Eun-kyeong will visit Buk-gu, Gwangju on August 6 to inspect the pilot project for the National Primary Care Physician Program and the implementation of the Community Integrated Care Policy.

Buk-gu announced on August 5 that this visit reflects the district's achievement in establishing the nation's first foundation for implementing the Primary Care Physician Program, as well as its ranking as number one nationwide in the field of integrated support for medical care, nursing, and caregiving in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's regional welfare project evaluation.

On this day, at 2:00 p.m., Minister Jeong will receive a report on the current status of integrated care initiatives in Gwangju City and its autonomous districts at the Gwangju City Hall's main conference room, and will hold a roundtable discussion for institutionalization. Then, starting at 4:00 p.m., she will visit the Ochi Community Complex Center located within the Ochi Permanent Rental Apartment in Buk-gu to observe the operation of the Buk-gu Integrated Care Model and discuss policy implementation measures with relevant stakeholders.

Buk-gu is currently working on establishing the institutional foundation by creating a new Health Primary Care Promotion Team, enacting related ordinances, and preparing plans for medical institution participation. The district is also pushing to expand and reorganize the initiative into a 'Health Primary Care Support Center' with the participation of private medical professionals, community representatives, and academic experts.
