The Sejong Community Chest of Korea (hereinafter referred to as the Chest) held a ceremony on August 4 to deliver funds for its 2025 project, the "Capacity Building Support Project for Social Welfare Institution Workers."
On this day, the Chest delivered 30 million KRW to the Sejong Association of Social Workers. The Capacity Building Support Project was designed to strengthen the professionalism of social welfare institution workers and to improve the quality of welfare practices in the field.
In particular, the Association plans to provide practical support in the field, including: ▲ practical competency enhancement training (such as case management, legal systems, and counseling skills), ▲ leadership and organizational culture improvement workshops, and ▲ programs for relieving job stress and self-care.
According to the Association, the most significant feature of this project is its on-site educational support, which involves visiting each social welfare institution to provide customized training tailored to each institution, actively supporting the capacity building of practitioners and addressing difficulties faced in the field. This enables field workers to receive the necessary training without restrictions of time or place.
Kim Hyungyu, Secretary General of the Association of Social Workers, stated, "This will provide practical support for strengthening the professionalism of social welfare workers and for changes in the welfare field," and added, "We will continue our efforts to create an environment where social welfare workers can work healthily and happily."
Meanwhile, the Association of Social Workers, a statutory organization established under Article 46 of the Social Welfare Services Act, is a group that contributes to the development of social welfare by working to improve the treatment of social welfare workers, proposing policies, advocating for rights and interests, and operating social welfare education programs.
