The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on August 5 that it has carried out its regular personnel appointments for kindergarten, elementary, and secondary school teachers, as well as education professionals, effective September 1.
The appointments involve a total of 200 personnel, including 6 kindergarten teachers, 53 elementary school teachers, 81 secondary school teachers, and 60 education professionals.
For key positions, Jeon Eunsook, superintendent at the city office of education, was appointed as the head of the Education Training Institute; Jin Young, head of the Student Education Institute, was appointed as the head of the Creative Convergence Education Institute; and Jeong Jongjae, principal of Suwan High School, was appointed as the head of the Student Education Institute.
Additionally, Noh Jeonghyeon, head of training planning at the Education Training Institute, was assigned as the head of the World Democratic Citizenship Education Division; Koo Youngcheol, principal of Jinje Elementary School, was assigned as the head of the Character and Life Education Division; and Lee Jeonghee, principal of Singa Middle School, was assigned as the head of the Foreign Language Education Division at the Creative Convergence Education Institute.
An official from the city office of education explained, "We have appointed talented individuals with a wide range of on-site and educational administration experience in order to stabilize the educational field and promote efficient operations."
