Customized Policies and Field-Oriented Support Prove Effective
Remarkable Achievements in Startups and Senior Employment
Boryeong City in South Chungcheong Province has firmly established itself as a "leading city in employment" by creating 5,351 jobs in just the first half of this year. This figure accounts for 85% of the annual target of 6,261 jobs and is considered a meaningful achievement amid concerns over a slowdown in the job market.
According to the city on August 5, Boryeong has simultaneously operated 35 job-related projects, quickly absorbing demand across various sectors.
In particular, large-scale events such as the "Job and Startup Expo," which have been aggressively promoted since the first half of the year, played a significant role in matching employers with job seekers and creating tangible jobs.
The city also achieved notable results with its senior employment policies in response to an aging society.
By achieving 97% of the target for the first half of the year, the city not only helped preserve the income of seniors but also strengthened the community care function, creating a dual benefit.
Tailored jobs and startup support for the "new middle age" and middle-aged population have also provided practical help for those planning a second chapter in life.
The city has steadily expanded on-site support measures such as the "Interview Companion Service" and the "Mobile Job Support Center." These strategies have also had the additional effect of attracting new residents from outside the city and increasing new hires.
Mayor Kim Dongil stated, "This achievement is the result of organic cooperation between departments and field-oriented job administration," and added, "In the second half of the year, we will focus on job-specific training and scale-up programs for startups to make Boryeong a city that is ideal for working and starting a business."
