Sacheon City Holds Anti-Corruption and Integrity Task Force Meeting ... Gathers Opinions on Improvement Tasks

Performance of Anti-Corruption and Integrity Initiatives
Plans for the Second Half of the Year and Analysis of Vulnerable Areas

Park Dongsik, the mayor of Sacheon in South Gyeongsang Province, along with senior public officials, is taking the lead in fostering a culture of integrity within the public sector.

On August 5, Sacheon City announced that it had held the "2025 2nd Anti-Corruption and Integrity Promotion Task Force Meeting" in the mayor's office, attended by Mayor Park Dongsik, the vice mayor, and other senior officials such as department and bureau heads.

During the meeting, there were practical discussions on creating a more transparent Sacheon City, including a review of anti-corruption and integrity initiatives carried out in the first half of 2025, plans for the second half of the year, analysis of areas vulnerable to corruption, and gathering opinions on improvement tasks.

The participants were also urged to actively implement the four key strategies for enhancing integrity: senior officials taking the initiative in anti-corruption activities, spreading ethical awareness and a culture of integrity, operating fair and transparent systems, and focusing on improving and responding to areas vulnerable to corruption.

In particular, they pledged to take the lead in raising awareness about violations of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, workplace harassment (gapjil), and breaches of duty regulations, as well as discussing comprehensive anti-corruption improvement measures to enhance overall integrity.

The Integrity Promotion Task Force, led by Mayor Park Dongsik and comprised of public officials at grade 4 or above, serves as a control tower for advancing anti-corruption and integrity policies by monitoring the status of initiatives and managing anti-corruption efforts systematically.

Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "The foundation for Sacheon to become the aerospace capital of Korea is integrity," and emphasized, "Through each small action and fair performance of duties, we can build a future of integrity for Sacheon City."

Meanwhile, the city is actively promoting a variety of integrity initiatives to build a trustworthy Sacheon based on fairness and integrity, such as Integrity Live, capacity-building workshops for Integrity Guardians, a self-learning system for integrity, and department-level training tours to strengthen discipline among public officials.
