Polaris Office and Korea Expressway Corporation Launch AI Electronic Document System, Pioneering Public Sector AX and DX Transformation

Polaris Office announced on August 5 that it has partnered with Korea Expressway Corporation to launch a project aimed at transforming the public sector's electronic document system into an intelligent platform based on generative artificial intelligence (AI).

This collaboration is a strategic move to simultaneously achieve digital transformation (DX) and administrative experience innovation (AX) within public institutions. It is attracting attention as the first case in which Polaris Office has applied generative AI to actual administrative operations.

The core of this project is to integrate generative AI into the existing electronic document system, automating the entire process from drafting and summarizing to approval, distribution, and receipt, and unifying key business processes such as access control under an AI-based system.

In particular, through Polaris Office's data preprocessing technology, the platform is expected to dramatically reduce decision-making time and approval delays for staff by enabling the system to learn from vast amounts of electronic documents and provide real-time, customized draft creation and summaries based on similar cases.

Polaris Office plans to enhance the features of its real-time co-editing document collaboration solution, 'Polaris Docs', and its mobile-based paperless solution, 'ViewerPlus', by leveraging the accumulated dataset of draft documents and on-site feedback gained through this collaboration.

Through these efforts, the company aims to go beyond being a simple document editing tool and establish itself as an AI partner that fundamentally innovates the way public institutions operate electronic documents.

A Polaris Office representative stated, "This collaboration is an important turning point that demonstrates how generative AI can be applied and deliver results in the practical field of public institutions," and added, "Based on our successful partnership with Korea Expressway Corporation, we will lead the DX and AX of public institutions in Korea."

Meanwhile, Polaris Office Group is currently pursuing the acquisition of HandysSoft, a company specializing in collaboration software for the public sector and enterprises. HandysSoft holds a wide range of groupware solutions tailored to public institutions, including electronic approval, document management, and email, and is a major player in the domestic market with approximately 1,300 public institution and corporate clients.

Through this acquisition, Polaris Office plans to significantly expand its reach in the public sector and maximize synergy by combining its generative AI technology with HandysSoft's existing platforms. By moving beyond individual sales approaches and rapidly spreading integrated, platform-based AI document solutions, the company expects a structural transformation that will simultaneously achieve both revenue growth and improved profitability.

In addition, Polaris Office plans to accelerate its efforts to target the enterprise market through collaborations with leading Korean AI (K-AI) development companies. In practice, the company has signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with Naver Cloud, LG AI Research, and Upstage to promote technical cooperation and market expansion.
