Accelerating Expansion into Medium and Large Hospitals
Starting with Incheon Sejong Hospital
Digital healthcare startup Medipal announced on August 5 that it has signed a contract with Incheon Sejong Hospital to supply its B2B SaaS (Software as a Service) solution for managing returning patients at hospitals and clinics, called 'Afterdoc'.
Afterdoc is a solution designed to help hospitals and clinics continuously communicate with patients after treatment and provide personalized prognosis management. It focuses on strengthening the connection between healthcare providers and patients. By automating prognosis management based on each patient's treatment characteristics and cycles and establishing a standardized consultation system, it enhances treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction. For hospitals and clinics, it increases revenue by boosting patient return rates.
Incheon Sejong Hospital, which opened in 2017, provides specialized and systematic medical services centered around five specialized centers: spine and joint, digestive system, pediatrics and adolescents, cardiovascular, and cerebrovascular. In 2020, it was the only general hospital in the Incheon region selected as an implementing institution for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's pilot project for home medical care for heart disease patients. Recently, the hospital has been accelerating patient-centered care innovation by introducing digital healthcare solutions.
Medipal plans to expand Afterdoc's returning patient management system to all departments within Incheon Sejong Hospital and broaden its customer base to include medium and large hospitals.
Park Jinsik, Chairman of Sejong Hospital, stated, "As a regional public healthcare institution, Sejong Hospital is doing its utmost to provide efficient and high-quality medical services." He added, "With the introduction of Afterdoc, we aim to establish a more meticulous patient management system, enhance trust between patients and medical staff, and strengthen our patient-centered care system."
Kang Jongil, CEO of Medipal, said, "We expect the aftercare service area based on Afterdoc's technology and data to expand further." He continued, "We will continue to focus on developing digital healthcare technologies that innovate patient experience at hospitals and clinics, thereby contributing to the creation of a sustainable healthcare environment."
