The 14th Robot Convergence Festival, Korea's Largest Robot Festival, to Be Held

The 14th Robot Convergence Festival, the largest robot festival in Korea, will be held at the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) for three days from August 8 to 10 in Daejeon, a city leading the way in robot convergence technology and talent development.

This annual event brings together domestic and international youth robotics talents and citizens to compete and experience robot technologies. Its main objectives are to nurture future talent and to expand the foundation of the robotics industry.

This year, in particular, a wide variety of hands-on programs have been organized so that citizens can directly observe and enjoy robotics and AI technologies. Local universities, companies, and organizations?including the International Youth Robot Federation, Korea Robot Sports Association, Chungnam National University, Mokwon University, Woosong University, Twini Co., Ltd., Saeon Co., Ltd., Drone Division Co., Ltd., and Plusin Co., Ltd.?are participating together.

A total of eight robotics competitions will be held during the festival. These include the International Youth Robot Camp, IRO Camp, Intelligent Creative Robot and Line Tracer Competition, Creative Content Maker Competition, Woosong Robot Competition, Autonomous Vehicle A.I. Mission Challenge, National Drone Sports Competition, and Battle Coding Drone Competition. Over 3,000 participants from eight countries will compete in these events.

In addition, demonstrations based on local technology will be showcased, such as autonomous robots from Daejeon's leading robotics company Twini and the latest convergence robot technologies developed by KAIST researchers. The event will also highlight tangible outcomes of collaboration among industry, academia, and research institutions.

The hands-on programs are also diverse. Science education content for children and youth will be provided, including coding experiences using Alpha DDR robots, a block-stacking Tetris game zone, and a 3D Magic Water Elf making activity. The festival is expected to become a popular weekend destination for families.

Yoo Deukwon, Deputy Mayor for Administrative Affairs of Daejeon, stated, "Daejeon is a city at the forefront of robot convergence technology and talent development. This festival is a special stage where young people, who will lead the future robotics industry, can showcase their imagination and technical skills. I hope that many citizens and visitors will join us to witness the potential of the robotics industry and to offer enthusiastic support for the challenges taken on by our youth."
