Yeongdeungpo District Recruiting 160 Trainees for Free Caregiver Certification Course Provided by Yeongdeungpo District.

The number of trainees for the second half of this year has been expanded to more than six times compared to the 25 trainees in the first half. In response to residents' requests, the district has prepared various classes to broaden the range of options, including an evening class (August 11 to November 21), an afternoon class (August 18 to November 28), and a full-day class (August 25 to October 24). The course covers a total of 320 hours, including theory, practical skills, and hands-on training, and all necessary components for certification are provided free of charge.

Applicants must be residents of Yeongdeungpo District, aged 18 or older, who have lived in the district for at least one month as of the application deadline. To apply, candidates should bring their ID card and a copy of their resident registration to the Yeongdeungpo District Integrated Job Support Center (2nd floor, Woori Bank Yeongdeungpo District Office branch).

Upon completing the course, participants will be eligible to take the national caregiver certification exam. Even after certification, the district plans to provide follow-up support by connecting graduates to related institutions through the Yeongdeungpo District Job Support Center to help them secure stable employment.

In addition to fostering caregiver professionals, the district is also operating the "Caregiver Family Respite Program," the first of its kind among local governments, to protect care workers and address gaps in care services. Volunteers are connected to households with elderly people suffering from dementia and other age-related illnesses, giving family members who have been solely responsible for caregiving a chance to rest.

Choi Hokwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, stated, "The expansion of this recruitment was a decision made in response to the voices of our residents heard on the ground. We will continue to train professional caregivers and steadily expand care-related jobs in the community."
