The comedy film "Zombie Daughter," starring actor Jo Jungseok, surpassed a cumulative audience of 2 million just six days after its release.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticket sales network, as of 4:05 p.m. on August 4, "Zombie Daughter" (directed by Pil Gamseong) recorded a cumulative audience of 2,000,469. Since its release on July 30, the film has maintained the number one spot at the box office for five consecutive days, continuing its box office success.
"Zombie Daughter" is a comic drama that tells the story of a father who begins training to protect his daughter, who has become the last remaining zombie in the world. On its opening day, the film achieved both the highest opening score of the year and the highest opening performance among all Korean comedy films in history.
From August 1 to August 3, the film attracted 1,163,259 viewers over three days, bringing the cumulative audience to over 1,866,255. After surpassing 1 million viewers within four days of its release, the film exceeded 2 million in just six days, setting the fastest box office record of the year. This pace matches that of the 10-million-viewer film "12.12: The Day".
