The commemorative stamps are being produced in the "My Own Stamp" format in collaboration with the event's organizing committee (Chairperson: Kang Gi-jung, Mayor of Gwangju). The stamps carry the meaning of wishing for the success of this international sports event, which is being held for the first time in six years since the 2019 Gwangju World Aquatics Championships.
"My Own Stamps" are created using personal photographs and can actually be used for mailing. These are non-denominated stamps, meaning they do not display a postage value and can be used permanently regardless of future postage rate increases. The mascot "E-Pea," which symbolizes the columnar joints of Mudeungsan Mountain, will be featured on these commemorative stamps. Reservations for the stamps can be made from August 6 to 29 at Seogwangju Post Office, through the organizing committee's website, or by phone.
Meanwhile, the Gwangju World Archery Championships will be held from September 5 to 12, and the Para Archery Championships will take place from September 22 to 28. Both the preliminary and main round matches are free of charge, while the finals, which will be held at the 5·18 Democracy Square, require paid tickets. Tickets are available for pre-sale on Interpark until August 8, and regular sales will begin on August 13. As of August 1, a total of 735 participants from 76 countries have registered for the World Archery Championships, while 426 participants from 43 countries have registered for the Para Archery Championships.
