Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) will be recruiting 72 participants for the singles event "2025 Solo Escape Single, Beaming!" for about four weeks, from August 4 to August 28.
This event was organized to provide a natural environment for meetings and the formation of lasting relationships for single men and women whose opportunities to meet others have decreased. The decrease is due to busy daily lives, the diversification of values regarding marriage and dating, economic burdens, and unstable employment conditions. Each of these factors has independently contributed to the reduction in meeting opportunities.
The recruitment targets are a total of 72 single men and women born between 1986 and 1998 (36 men and 36 women). Men are eligible if they reside in or work in Gyeongsan City, and women are eligible if they reside in or work in Gyeongbuk Province.
The event will be held three times: on September 6, September 20, and September 28. To apply, participants should check the required documents and instructions in the City News section of the Gyeongsan City Hall website and submit their application via email.
In particular, this year’s event goes beyond a simple blind date format and features an experiential program where participants can cook together, communicate naturally, and build intimacy. It is expected that participants will be able to form new connections in a pleasant and warm atmosphere through these shared experiences.
At last year’s event, 20 out of 60 participants successfully matched as couples, and among them, some are now preparing for marriage, which has raised expectations for this year’s event even higher.
Cho Hyunil, Mayor of Gyeongsan City, said, "I hope this event becomes a special opportunity for participants to meet meaningful connections," and added, "We will actively promote various customized policies to support meetings and marriages among young people and to create an environment conducive to raising children."
