September 13-14, Two-Day, One-Night Program
Collaboration with Gangwon Tourism Organization, Dates at Sokcho Landmarks
Applications Accepted on Website Until August 14
The Buddhist community matching program "Naneun Jeollo" will be held at Sinheungsa Temple in Sokcho, Gangwon Province, from August 13 to 14.
According to the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism Social Welfare Foundation, "Naneun Jeollo, Sinheungsa" will take place over two days and one night, and participants can apply until August 14. The event, themed "Gangwon Travel," will host a total of 20 participants, with 10 men and 10 women.
This event is being enriched through collaboration with the Gangwon Tourism Organization. Programs that highlight the local character include a romantic stroll and date around Yeongrangho Lake to share thoughts in nature, one-on-one rotation tea talks at a large cafe with Sokcho's sea as the backdrop, and a date exploring the Sokcho Tourist and Fishery Market, a famous local attraction.
"Naneun Jeollo" was established in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Welfare to provide educational opportunities and temple stay experiences for single men and women in their 20s and 30s, with the aim of fostering a positive view of marriage.
Ven. Myojang, CEO, stated, "Sinheungsa Temple, nestled in the embrace of Seorak and the cool East Sea, is a place where both body and mind naturally find peace. It is also the optimal space for young people to forge genuine connections. I hope this 'Naneun Jeollo' event becomes an opportunity for participants to meet meaningful partners."
Choi Sunghyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Organization, also commented, "It is very meaningful to collaborate with the popular content 'Naneun Jeollo.' I hope that many young people will find precious connections in the natural environment of Seoraksan."
Last year, a total of 3,408 people applied for "Naneun Jeollo." Among them, 160 were selected, resulting in the formation of 33 couples.
Anyone who is a single man or woman in their 20s or 30s, regardless of religion, and resides in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, or Gangwon regions, is eligible to apply for "Naneun Jeollo, Sinheungsa." Applications can be submitted via the Google Form linked in the announcements section of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism Social Welfare Foundation website from 10:00 a.m. on August 5 until 10:00 a.m. on August 14.
