Actor Song Youngkyu, who gained attention for his role as Chief Choi in the film "Extreme Job," was found dead, and the police have launched an investigation.

On August 4, Yonhap News reported, "At around 8:00 a.m. on this day, an acquaintance discovered Mr. Song deceased inside a vehicle in a residential complex located in Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, and reported it to the authorities."

No evidence of foul play was found, and no suicide note was discovered. The police plan to question Song's family to investigate the circumstances of his death.

Previously, on June 19 at around 11:00 p.m., Song was caught driving under the influence for approximately 5 kilometers from Giheung-gu to Cheoin-gu in Yongin-si and was referred to the prosecution. After this incident became known belatedly, Song withdrew from the projects he had been participating in.

Song made his debut in 1994 with the children's musical "Meoteoldosa" and continued to appear in various films, dramas, and stage plays until recently. In 2019, he played Chief Choi in the film "Extreme Job," and delivered impressive performances in the online video service (OTT) dramas "Suriname" (2022) and "Casino" (2022).
