At the Supreme Council meeting of the Democratic Party held at the National Assembly in Yeouido on August 4, Jeong stated, "We will immediately activate the four special committees: Prosecution·Media·Judicial Reform and Party Member Sovereignty Party," adding, "Just moments ago, at a closed-door Supreme Council meeting, we resolved to establish these special committees."

Jeong explained that Min Hyungbae was appointed as the chair of the Prosecution Reform Special Committee, Choi Minhee as the chair of the Media Reform Special Committee, and Baek Hyeryeon as the chair of the Judicial Reform Special Committee. He declared, "We will drive forward the three major reforms like a storm and complete them with lightning speed."

He emphasized, "The direction and content of all three major reforms have already been established, and a public consensus has formed as the nation has experienced the dictatorial regime of Yoon Suk Yeol's prosecution and the ensuing state of unrest. If the special committees set and proceed with a comprehensive reform direction, I believe we can fulfill our promise to complete the reforms before Chuseok, as pledged to the public."

Jang Kyungtae was appointed as the chair of the Party Member Sovereignty Party Special Committee. Jeong said, "We will swiftly carry out our promises to the public and party members, including the completion of a party member sovereignty party and the institutionalization of a one-person, one-vote system for all party members," adding, "Through reforms that meet the expectations of our party members, we will open an era where party members are the true owners of the party and prove it with results."

Jeong also stated, "We will work as one team with the Lee Jaemyung administration, uniting the party, government, and presidential office to build a Republic of Korea where recovery and growth go hand in hand," and added, "We will take the lead so that the recovery of the people's livelihood economy is felt in their daily lives." He further said, "We will strengthen the party's support so that state affairs can be managed with a focus on national interest diplomacy, peace and security, and people's livelihoods," and continued, "We will strive to restore peaceful inter-Korean relations so that we can pursue a path of peace where people can live without fear."

Meanwhile, Jeong called on the government to take action regarding the heavy rain damage that occurred the previous day. He said, "Yesterday, once again, extreme heavy rain of over 140mm per hour fell in the Honam, Gyeongsang, and Chungbuk regions, and as of 7 a.m. nationwide, more than 2,500 people have been displaced," adding, "I urge both the central and local governments to take meticulous and immediate measures." He added, "The party will also fulfill its responsibilities where necessary."
