Available for Deferred Installment with Vehicle Return
Hydrogen Charging Cost Support Benefits Included
Hyundai Motor Company is accelerating the popularization of hydrogen electric vehicles (FCEVs). By launching the customized purchase program 'Nexo Easy Start,' which significantly reduces the financial burden on consumers, the company has opened a new path for customers to get closer to hydrogen vehicles, which have long been perceived as expensive.
According to Hyundai Motor Company on August 3, the Nexo Easy Start program consists of a 'balloon payment installment plan,' which features low monthly payments, and a 'hydrogen charging cost support benefit,' which covers hydrogen charging costs for two years. The program is evaluated as being focused on alleviating the 'cost burden,' which has been one of the main barriers to entry for hydrogen vehicles.
Available for 220,000 won per month... Used car value also guaranteed
The balloon payment installment plan guarantees the used car value in advance, defers the installment amount equivalent to the residual value, and allows customers to settle the deferred amount by returning the vehicle at the end of the term. Up to 50% of the Nexo's price is guaranteed as the used car value in advance, allowing customers to defer the corresponding installment amount. Customers only need to pay the principal and interest on the remaining amount and the interest on the deferred amount, minimizing both the initial purchase cost and the monthly payment burden. The deferred amount can be settled in a lump sum by returning the vehicle after 36 months, which is the end of the term.
The selling price of the Nexo (after tax benefits) is 76.44 million won for the Exclusive trim. In major regions such as Daegu, Daejeon, and Incheon, the hydrogen vehicle subsidy for the Nexo (combined national and local government support) is set at around 32.5 million won. In this case, based on the minimum down payment rate (1.3%), customers can use the Nexo for 7,200 won per day (220,000 won per month, based on a 36-month Hyundai Card installment plan). The Nexo balloon payment installment plan is available to individuals and sole proprietors who plan to repurchase a Hyundai electric vehicle or hydrogen electric vehicle after returning the vehicle.
Hydrogen charging cost support of up to 2.4 million won... Prepaid card and partnership card benefits as well
The burden of hydrogen charging costs has also been reduced. Nexo customers can receive up to 2.4 million won in hydrogen charging cost support over two years through the 'hydrogen charging cost support benefit.' Hyundai Motor Company provides Nexo buyers with a prepaid card, exclusively designed for the Nexo, preloaded with 1.95 million won. Additionally, customers who use a Hyundai-exclusive card can receive an extra benefit of 450,000 won.
Previously, in June, Hyundai Motor Company launched the 'Nexo Love Call Campaign' along with the release of the new Nexo. The first participant, broadcaster Yoo Jaeseok, drew attention by releasing a video message stating, "I will join the journey of hydrogen mobility without CO₂ emissions, together with Nexo." In the video, Yoo Jaeseok expressed his agreement with the eco-friendliness of the new Nexo, which emits only water without CO₂, and showed amazement at its performance, which allows a 720 km drive with a five-minute charge. In the final scene, Yoo Jaeseok emphasized that he is an actual Nexo owner by saying, "That's why I drive a Nexo. I really do."
Meanwhile, Yoo Jaeseok has revealed several times on television that he owns a Porsche Panamera, a four-seater sedan. On KBS 2TV's 'Comeback Home' in 2021, Yoo Jaeseok said, "I used to drive Korean cars a lot, but now I drive a (Porsche) Panamera." On the 2023 web variety show 'Play You Level Up: The World Where Villains Live,' he mentioned the 'most expensive item he recently purchased' as "(Porsche) Panamera, it's been five years now," which also became a topic of discussion. According to Porsche Korea, the Panamera is currently priced from a minimum of 183.3 million won up to a maximum of 349.2 million won.
