This song festival was held as a program linked to the region's signature summer event, the "2025 Yeongju Siwon(ONE) Festival," marking the beginning of a full-fledged summer celebration to beat the heat. The Yeongju branch of the Korea Entertainment Artists Association organized the event, offering citizens and tourists a variety of spectacles and lively performances.
In the preliminary round held on July 20, 12 out of about 150 participants advanced to the finals to compete. The finals began with a pre-show performance by trot singer Hwang Taeja, and last year's grand prize winner Ji Jaehyun gave a congratulatory performance, raising the excitement of the event.
Between the first and second rounds of the finals, local singer Seo Yeonhwa took the stage to keep the energy high. For the finale, trot singer Danbi, who previously hosted TBC's "Singsing Hometown Byeolgok," delivered a special performance that heated up the venue.
As a result of the competition, the grand prize went to Shin Woohyuk from Incheon, who passionately performed Ryu Gyeyoung's "Life." He was praised by both the judges and the audience for his deep vocal tone and emotional expression. Shin received a grand prize trophy, 3 million won in prize money, and a singer certification from the Korea Entertainment Artists Association.
The gold prize was awarded to Kim Mijin from Gumi for her rendition of So Chanwhee's "TEARS," while the silver prize went to Kim Jihye from Seoul for her performance of Kim Yongim's "Cheonnyeonhak." The bronze prize was awarded to Kim Yesol from Jeongeup for her performance of Jin Sung's "Nimui Deungbul," and the popularity award went to Kwon Bokju from Yeongju for her unique interpretation of Park Jinyoung's "Honey." Each winner in these categories received prize money ranging from 1 million won to 200,000 won.
Acting Mayor Yoo Jeonggeun said, "It is very meaningful to have successfully hosted this song festival with cultural artists and music lovers from across the country," and added, "We will actively support this event so that it becomes a representative music festival that goes beyond Korea and reaches the world."
