"Lightening the Grocery Burden: Busan Offers Up to 30% Cashback on Agricultural and Livestock Products at Traditional Markets"

Busan Metropolitan City is partnering with local traditional markets to hold a discount event on domestic agricultural and livestock products in order to ease the burden of summer grocery prices.

On August 3, the city announced that from August 4 to August 9, for a total of six days, a cashback event will be held at 12 traditional markets across Busan. During this event, customers who purchase agricultural and livestock products can receive up to 30% of their purchase amount back in Onnuri gift certificates.

The participating markets are located in 12 markets across 10 districts, including Busanjingu and Bukgu. The markets are as follows: Bosu General Market, Chungmudong Saebyeok Market, Bujeon Market Town, Dongnae Market (Suaninjeong Market), Jeongieinneun Gupo Market, Bansong Large Market, Goejeong Alley Market, Jangnim Alley Market, Seodong Traditional Alley Market, Millak Alley Market, Namhang Market, and Mangmi Central Market.

The cashback benefits are provided in tiers according to the purchase amount. Customers who purchase over 67,000 KRW worth of domestic agricultural and livestock products will receive Onnuri gift certificates worth 20,000 KRW. Those who purchase between 34,000 KRW and less than 67,000 KRW will receive gift certificates worth 10,000 KRW. The maximum cashback per person is 20,000 KRW.

To receive the Onnuri gift certificate cashback, customers must visit the designated booth in the market on the day of purchase and present their receipt and identification (or mobile phone). However, those who used Zero Pay gift certificates or purchased at regular restaurants or bought imported agricultural and livestock products are excluded from the cashback program.

The city expects that this discount event will help alleviate the burden on citizens who are feeling the effects of rising agricultural and livestock product prices ahead of holidays or the vacation season.

Park Geunrok, Director of the Marine, Agriculture, and Fisheries Bureau of the city, emphasized, "We will work closely with the government to ensure that substantial consumer benefits are provided in this era of high prices," and added, "This will also help revitalize the local economy and traditional markets."
