In his remarks after being elected the previous day, Jung stated, "Tomorrow, I will immediately rush back to the flood recovery sites," and added, "I will sweat and shed tears together with the people who are in difficulty." He also said, "We must quickly respond to the flood victims suffering from unexpected extreme heavy rainfall, as well as to the people enduring ongoing extreme heatwaves."

Meanwhile, Kwon Hyangyeop, who has been nominated as Jung's spokesperson, met with reporters immediately after the National Party Members' Convention and said, "As his first official activity, he will be supporting flood recovery in Noan-myeon, Naju City," and explained that "the activity will continue until 11:30 a.m."

Later that day, Jung is scheduled to hold a closed Supreme Council meeting to discuss party appointments. He has already nominated Han Minsu and Kim Younghwan, who assisted his campaign for party leader, as Chief of Staff to the Party Leader and Political Affairs Director, respectively.

For key party positions such as Secretary-General and Policy Committee Chair, lawmakers known for their strong reformist policy expertise are being considered. During the campaign, Jung had announced his intention to convert appointed Supreme Council members into ordinary party members, so further appointments aimed at strengthening party member sovereignty are also expected.

In his acceptance speech, Jung stated, "No one will be disadvantaged for supporting Park Chandae. Party appointments will be made based on pragmatic and balanced personnel decisions."
