Seocho District in Seoul (District Mayor: Jeon Seong-su) and the Seocho Cultural Foundation (CEO: Kang Eun-kyung) will operate the “Seocho-Hangang Art Tour,” a tour program combining public art exhibitions and art experiences, in the Goteo·Sebit Tourism Special Zone area from August 8 to September 4.

First introduced last year, the “Seocho-Hangang Art Tour” is a program that takes visitors to major tourist attractions in Seocho alongside foreign tourists. It received a great response, with tourists from 17 countries including Taiwan, Morocco, Belgium, and France participating. This year, due to its popularity, the number of tours has been increased to seven, and participation has been expanded to include domestic visitors as well.

This year’s tour is themed “An Artistic Walk Connecting the Express Bus Terminal and the Hangang River,” and is linked to the “Wonder Street” sculpture and installation art exhibition in the underground public pedestrian passage connecting Express Bus Terminal Station and Banpo Hangang Park. The various colorful and dynamic artworks add vitality to everyday life and offer visitors a unique and imaginative experience.

Participants can enjoy public art in the tourism special zone, such as the “Wonder Street” exhibition, “24 Hours of Seoul” mural, and “Picasso Mural,” with explanations from professional docents. There are also art experience programs for families, including traditional kite making and sunset suncatcher making.

The tour will be conducted in English to reflect the status of the tourism special zone, and anyone, including foreigners, can participate freely. The docent will be a professional guide who has worked at venues such as the Seoul Arts Center and Nowon Art Museum. Participation is free of charge. Detailed schedules and application methods can be found on the official Instagram (@25seocho_arttour).

Meanwhile, since the Goteo~Banpo Hangang Park area was designated as the Goteo·Sebit Tourism Special Zone in December last year, Seocho District has been accelerating the development of customized tourism and cultural programs. In May, Seocho attracted significant attention from tourists with various participatory contents such as the “K-Fashion & Beauty Coaching Station” and a topper event utilizing the tourist information center.

Jeon Seong-su, Mayor of Seocho District, stated, “Through the Seocho-Hangang Art Tour, we will offer a unique cultural experience where art, tourism, and hands-on activities come together in the Goteo·Tourism Special Zone along the Hangang River.” He added, “We will continue to strengthen the global competitiveness of the city by connecting Seocho’s distinctive tourism resources and art infrastructure.”
