A Chinese national man in his 60s has been arrested for murdering a woman he lived with in Garibong-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul.
On August 2, Judge Kim Sungeun of the Seoul Southern District Court, who was on duty for warrants, issued an arrest warrant for Kim, who is suspected of murder, after holding a pre-arrest interrogation (substantive warrant review) in the afternoon. The judge stated, "There is concern about flight risk."
Kim is accused of stabbing and killing a woman in her 50s, with whom he was cohabiting, with a weapon at around 3:17 a.m. on July 31 at a residence in Garibong-dong that had been converted from a massage parlor.
Upon arriving at the court that day, Kim told reporters, "(The victim) attacked me with a knife." When asked if he felt sorry for the victim, he replied, "Yes."
