On August 2, Seoul Mayor Oh Sehoon visited the northern forest trail of Namsan with Jung Heewon, Seoul's Chief Health Officer, who popularized the concept of 'slow aging'.
On this day, Mayor Oh walked with Chief Jung from the entrance of the northern forest trail to the summit, inspecting safety and convenience features. He also visited three rest areas along the way to check their current operations.
The northern forest trail is a 0.5-kilometer decked stairway connecting the summit of Namsan to the northern circular road.
Mayor Oh and Chief Jung also had breakfast together, eating 'Keto Gimbap', one of the representative slow aging diets, and fruit, while discussing practical health management methods that citizens can easily incorporate into their daily lives.
Mayor Oh stated, "Namsan is one of Seoul's leading tourist attractions, visited by about 11 million citizens and tourists every year. With the appearance of N Seoul Tower in 'Kedeheon', we expect even more tourists to visit." He added, "We will devise ways to improve accessibility so that Namsan can be enjoyed conveniently and safely."
