In addition, ahead of the upcoming Korea-US summit, he suggested that a peace conference involving South Korea, the United States, and North Korea be held in APEC Gyeongju. He proposed the creation of a "Gyeongju Big Deal" that would contribute to world peace, comparable to the "Hanoi Big Deal." The President also showed great interest in this proposal and strongly agreed that APEC should become a platform for peace and prosperity.
He also requested support for the enactment of a "Special Act on Wildfire Damage" to aid the recovery from wildfires in North Gyeongsang Province and to enable the innovative reconstruction of affected areas. He specifically emphasized the need to create new hope for the region by building tourism and accommodation facilities in the affected areas. The President inquired about the situation and recovery plans for "Ttaggaebi Village" in Seok-ri, Yeongdeok County, and expressed interest in the wildfire site and the necessity of recovery support.
He further stressed the need for the national government to take the lead in the construction of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport. He explained that the new airport is the central hub for the economy and transportation of the entire Daegu-Gyeongbuk and Yeongnam regions, and is the most critical issue for advancing as a global city. He requested government support for the swift construction of the airport and proposed the active participation of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).
He also highlighted the need for the development of Yeongilman Port in Pohang as a complex port, serving as a base for the recently emphasized Arctic Sea Route. He further explained the importance of linking industries and logistics along the East Coast through the construction of the Yeongilman Transoceanic Expressway.
