On August 1, Democratic Party lawmaker Jung Jinwook (Gwangju Dongnam-gap) held a 'Citizen Report Meeting' to present the achievements of his legislative activities so far and share his vision for the future with citizens.
The 'One Year Legislative Achievements Citizen Report Meeting' took place in the main conference room on the 8th floor of Gwangju Nam-gu Office that afternoon, with approximately 500 attendees including Representative Jung, members of the Juwoldong Regional Housing Cooperative, and Nam-gu residents.
The event began with a welcoming address, followed by the presentation of first-class awards, a report on the first year’s legislative achievements, and an open forum for citizens. First-class awards from the Democratic Party leader were presented to 13 citizens who contributed to blocking martial law after the 12·3 Martial Law Incident and to the impeachment decision.
In his achievements report, Representative Jung emphasized that regarding the Bongseondong Namyang Hutton Phase 3 Gwangju Juwoldong Regional Housing Cooperative project, which was recently halted due to court receivership, "By the end of this month, a construction fulfillment agreement will be signed between HUG and the cooperative, and a 100% guarantee for additional interim loans will be secured."
Joo Yonguk, head of the Namyang Hutton Phase 3 Apartment Regional Housing Cooperative, stated, "Since the construction company entered court receivership, cooperative members have walked a long and dark path. After meeting Representative Jung Jinwook, the door to a solution opened. The construction fulfillment agreement with HUG is not just a simple step forward, but a turning point for the project’s recovery."

For major national projects in Gwangju Nam-gu, funding of approximately 21 billion won was secured for six projects, including the Songam Industrial Complex Urban Regeneration Innovation District and support for residents in development-restricted zones.
In the first supplementary budget for Gwangju this year, about 190.7 billion won was secured for AI strategic projects, local currency issuance, a public delivery app, and support for small business owners. In the second supplementary budget, funding for nine new projects was included, such as the next-generation solar cell demonstration project, construction of Urban Railway Line 2, and establishment of the Mobility AX Demonstration Lab.
In terms of legislation, last May, he led the proposal to revise the Constitutional Court Act to allow court rulings that seriously infringe on basic rights to be subject to constitutional complaints. He also proposed bills such as ▲the National Assembly Member Recall Act ▲the Special Act on Semiconductors ▲the Special Act on Expanding National Core Power Grids ▲the Special Act on Promoting Local Investment ▲the Offshore Wind Power Act, among others.
While serving on the Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee, he took the lead in opposing the overseas relocation of Samsung Electronics’ Gwangju plant, advocated for the withdrawal of the suspension of new renewable energy permits in Honam, and analyzed region- and distance-based electricity pricing under the Distributed Energy Act.

Representative Jung stated, "I have pledged to become a lawmaker who is the first to come to mind and a reliable support for residents in times of difficulty. I will always strive to be a useful tool by the side of the people," adding, "Based on renewable energy specialized complexes and industrial zones, I will make Gwangju Nam-gu the center of balanced national development."
