During the weekend, Gwangju and Jeollanam-do are expected to experience hot and humid weather with many clouds, as well as continued heat and tropical nights. Showers are forecast in various parts of Gwangju and Jeollanam-do, especially in the eastern inland areas of Jeollanam-do.


According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on August 1, the morning low on August 2 is expected to range from 24 to 26 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs between 33 and 36 degrees Celsius. Waves in the West Sea and South Sea coastal waters are expected to reach up to 1 to 1.5 meters, and the concentration of ultrafine dust is forecast to remain at a 'good' level. On August 3, the morning low is expected to be 24 to 26 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high is forecast to be 31 to 34 degrees Celsius.


On August 2, the eastern inland areas of Jeollanam-do are expected to receive 5 to 40 millimeters of showers, accompanied by gusty winds, thunder, and lightning. On August 3, showers of similar intensity are also expected in various parts of Gwangju and Jeollanam-do.


An official from the Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "For the time being, temperatures are expected to remain higher than average," and added, "As the maximum perceived temperature will rise to around 35 degrees Celsius, please be cautious of heat-related illnesses."
