Renault Korea July Sales Jump to 7,251 Units... Grand Koleos Drives Domestic Growth

Renault Korea (CEO Stephane Deblaise) saw a significant increase in automobile sales in July compared to the previous year.

On July 31, Renault Korea announced that it sold a total of 7,251 vehicles during July, with 4,000 units sold domestically and 3,251 units exported. This represents a 33.1% increase compared to the same month last year, when 5,449 units were sold.

Domestic sales were led by the midsize SUV Grand Koleos. A total of 3,029 units were sold in July, marking a 172.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Among these, the hybrid E-Tech model equipped with a parallel-series dual motor drive system accounted for 2,599 units, representing 85% of total sales.

According to Renault Korea, the Grand Koleos offers a spacious interior based on its 2,820mm wheelbase, and features advanced safety and convenience technologies. In the 2024 Korea New Car Assessment Program (KNCAP), it received the highest score among evaluated SUVs, earning a top-grade rating.

The coupe-style SUV Arkana recorded sales of 511 units last month. Of these, the 1.6 GTe model, equipped with a four-cylinder 1.6L naturally aspirated gasoline engine, accounted for 412 units, while the hybrid E-Tech model recorded 99 units.

The QM6 saw sales of 384 units. This model was enhanced last year with a new Renault emblem and updated design details to improve its market appeal. In addition, 44 units of the Master Van commercial vehicle and 32 units of the midsize sedan SM6 were sold, respectively.

In July, exports totaled 3,251 units, including 2,507 units of the Arkana and 744 units of the Grand Koleos (export name: New Renault Koleos). Since the start of full-scale exports in May, 3,401 units of the Grand Koleos have been shipped to 20 countries across three continents as of July.
