Haenam County Selected as Outstanding Case at Jeonnam Province Active Administration Competition

Realizing Resident-Centered Policies Through Advancement of Living Resource Treatment

South Jeolla Province's Haenam County received the Encouragement Award, an institutional commendation, at the 2025 first half Jeonnam Province Active Administration Competition.

Haenam County announced that it was selected as an outstanding institution at the competition held on July 29, which evaluated excellent cases submitted by cities, counties, and public institutions under Jeonnam Province.

The 'Active Administration Best Practices Competition' is held every year in the first and second halves to spread a culture of active administration that residents can truly experience. The county received high marks and won the Encouragement Award for its case on 'Advancement of Living Resource Treatment Facilities and Establishment of a Resource Circulation System,' which was comprehensively evaluated for resident satisfaction, creativity, and policy impact.

In particular, the county developed a device to remove foreign substances such as vinyl to improve compost quality and installed an electronic display board for automatic air pollution monitoring at incineration facilities to disclose related information in real time, thereby implementing resident-oriented improvement policies. Additionally, by introducing the removal device, the county resolved the issue of vinyl contamination, which had been pointed out as a cause of quality degradation in the compost production process, achieving both improved compost quality and increased production efficiency.

Furthermore, by disclosing air pollution information in real time, all residents were able to easily check environmental information, which received positive evaluations in terms of guaranteeing the right to health and improving information accessibility.

A county official stated, "This award is the result of field officials practicing active administration based on creativity and responsibility," and added, "We will continue to discover effective administrative innovation cases that residents can truly experience."
