The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Taehee) announced on August 1 that it has carried out personnel appointments for a total of 1,452 individuals, including principals, vice principals, teachers, and educational professionals, effective September 1.

In this personnel reshuffle, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education focused on strategically placing talent to strengthen the roles and responsibilities of Gyeonggi education in response to the era of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital education transformation, and to promote regional education revitalization and the expansion of autonomous school management.
The appointments for teaching staff total 1,280, including: 16 transfers from supervisor (education research) to principal, 10 reappointments and transfers of principals, 64 principal reappointments, 98 principal transfers, 22 promotions following the expiration of open recruitment principal terms, 211 principal promotions, 27 open recruitment principals, 54 vice principal transfers, 2 transfers from supervisor (education research) to vice principal, 29 transfers from supervisor (education research officer) to vice principal, 253 vice principal promotions, 3 appointments of senior teachers, 70 teachers returning to their positions, and 421 new teacher appointments.
The appointments for educational professionals total 172, including: 1 director at the main office, 7 superintendents, 3 heads of affiliated institutions, 3 division heads at the main office, 7 directors at the education support offices, 10 supervisors at the main office, 16 division heads at the education support offices, 8 heads of departments and education researchers at affiliated institutions, 69 supervisors (education research officers), and 48 newly appointed supervisors (education research officers).
In particular, this round of appointments for educational professionals prioritized the placement of individuals with a strong sense of public responsibility and passion to ensure that the Gyeonggi Future Education Policy is firmly established in the educational field and effectively communicated to the educational community.
Choi Jongcheol, Director of the Teacher Personnel Policy Division at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated, "The core of realizing Gyeonggi Future Education lies in schools," and added, "Through these appointments, each school will be able to establish a foundation for educational practice that is based on autonomy and responsibility in preparation for future society."
He continued, "We will continue to actively support the educational field by focusing on policy-linked personnel appointments, discovering future-oriented leaders, and strengthening on-site support."
