The National Health Insurance Service explained the roles and collaboration plans among the Service, the local government, and healthcare organizations in preparation for the nationwide integration of medical, long-term care, and support services, and exchanged opinions on these topics.
This pilot project is expected to serve as a social safety net by closely integrating and connecting various public and private care resources, thereby supporting elderly residents in the region to continue living in their preferred manner and in familiar surroundings.
Hwang Soonki, head of the branch, stated, "With Korea entering a super-aged society in 2025 and the nationwide implementation of the 'Integrated Care Support Act' in 2026, the National Health Insurance Service will play an active and central role to ensure that regionally customized integrated care services for seniors with complex needs are established in a stable manner."
