Sunflowers, blooming like summer sunshine, are waiting for visitors at Hwangsan Park.
Sunflowers grow by soaking up sunlight in bright places and are beloved by many for delivering messages of positivity, hope, and gratitude.
If you visit by car, various large and small sunflower varieties covering 1,980 square meters will greet you right next to the West Plaza parking lot. If you arrive on foot from the direction of Mulgeum Station, a row of sunflowers spanning 990 square meters awaits you right beside the observatory.
Ten types of sunflowers were planted together in June, and they have been blooming one by one since the end of July. Each variety has a different blooming period, with some blooming earlier and others later, but it is expected that sunflowers will continue to be in bloom until the end of August, with each flower lasting about 20 days.
In the center of the Central Plaza, verbena with purple blossoms is in full bloom over an area of 500 square meters, and right next to it, lush kochia bushes are growing thickly over a vast area of 1.5 hectares, allowing visitors to enjoy both together.
In the coming weeks, autumn flowers such as cosmos are also expected to begin blooming, offering visitors a chance to witness the beauty of nature changing with the seasons at a glance.
A city official stated, "We hope that citizens can find warm comfort, positivity, and hope in nature through the yellow sunflowers harmonizing with green leaves under the clear sky," and added, "Yangsan City will continue to make various efforts to provide residents with rich experiences of nature."
