This event carries special significance as it will be held at Yangjugwanaji, one of the sites where independence movement rallies took place in the past in the Yangju area. With the theme "Honoring History, Opening the Future: A Space for Cultural Empathy," the event is designed as a citizen-participatory cultural and artistic program that welcomes all generations. Through a variety of content blending tradition and modernity, the event seeks to foster intergenerational historical understanding and to restore local identity and community spirit.

The core program features a humanities concert led by Professor Shin Byungjoo from the Department of History at Konkuk University. Under the theme "The Life and Thought of Cho Soang and the Independence Movement History of Yangju," the lecture will delve into Cho Soang's Samgyunism, the diplomatic policies of the Korean Provisional Government, and the flow of the independence movement in the Yangju area. The program is structured to go beyond a simple history lecture, organically connecting local and national history so that citizens can experience history firsthand.

Following this, the Kwon Byeongho Trio, a leading multi-instrumentalist group in Korea, will perform a special arrangement of the national anthem, blending classical and Korean traditional music.

Next, all attendees will participate in a "Manse Performance," creating a meaningful moment to revive the spirit of liberation and the independence movement through the voices of citizens.

Alongside these, hands-on programs will allow participants of all ages to easily and enjoyably experience history and culture. The "Mugunghwa Soap Making" program offers a chance to create the national flower and naturally reflect on its significance. The "Calligraphy Fan Making" activity allows for creative expression of independence movement slogans, providing an emotionally resonant way to convey historical messages. In addition, "Face Painting" will be available for children and families, combining fun and educational elements by incorporating historical symbols.

Both advance reservations and on-site participation are available for this event. The first 50 people to reserve in advance will receive commemorative goods from Yangjugwanaji.

Yangju City plans to use this cultural event as an opportunity to share the spirit of the local independence movement with its citizens and to expand citizen-centered historical education based on this legacy. Furthermore, by operating integrated events that combine culture, arts, and hands-on experiences, the city aims to further strengthen Yangju’s identity and status as a city of historical and cultural significance.
