This Communication Relay brought together youth participants and guardians from the Zibo City international exchange in China, outstanding students from the 'Unification Golden Bell' (recipients of overseas history exploration), students who participated in domestic exchanges, and the top award winners of the 2025 Gwangju Youth Arts Festival. It provided a valuable opportunity for them to share their exchange experiences and discuss policy directions to strengthen Gwangju's international capabilities.
The event began with a pre-ceremony performance by the top award winner in the vocal (middle school) category of the '2025 Gwangju Youth Arts Festival' popular culture division. This was followed by an awards ceremony for the youth arts festival winners and a presentation on international activities by a youth participant in the Zibo City exchange. Afterwards, there was an open communication session where Mayor Bang Sehwan and the youth engaged in free conversation.
One youth presenter shared, "Through the exchange in Zibo City, China, I learned how to view the world with an open mind and deeply realized the importance of understanding and communicating with other cultures, beyond just visiting."
Mayor Bang Sehwan stated, "Listening to the sincere stories of young people who have grown through international experiences made me reflect on the future of Gwangju. I will actively incorporate the opinions of youth into city administration and spare no policy support to help them grow into globally-minded talents."
Meanwhile, the 32nd Communication Relay was a meaningful occasion to hear the vivid voices of young people and explore policy directions for Gwangju City together with the next generation. Mayor Bang also plans to continuously expand direct communication with citizens through various communication channels in the future.
