Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on August 1 that the Presidential National Planning Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "National Planning Committee") held the "Everyone's Plaza by Bus" event in the main conference room on the third floor of Paju City Hall on July 31, providing an opportunity for direct communication with citizens.

This event is part of the National Planning Committee's nationwide tour to listen to the vivid voices of the people directly on-site. In Paju, a total of 48 cases, including chronic local civil complaints and policy proposals, were received during the event.

In addition to receiving civil complaints, Park Kyuseop, Senior Policy Advisor of the National Planning Committee, Lee Myungwoo, Director of External Cooperation at the National Planning Committee, and Bae Jungbae, Investigator at the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, visited "Camp Edwards" in Wollong-myeon to hear citizens' opinions on revitalizing development in the long-neglected land returned by the US military.

On this day, Paju City proposed to the National Planning Committee that a total of 11 major local issues be reflected in national policy tasks. These included: developing Paju into a self-sufficient city with a population of one million and establishing a future railway network; creating a sports industry cluster in Paju; securing the Gyoha entrance and exit at Unjeong IC on the Second Metropolitan Area Ring Expressway; supporting the establishment of Paju Public Medical School; and expanding the removal of protective barriers and the release of military facility protection zones.

Paju Mayor Kim Kyoungil said, "I would like to thank the National Planning Committee for being the only one in the Gyeonggi region to visit Paju and listen to the voices of our citizens in person," and added, "I hope for continued interest and support so that not only the local issues proposed by the city but also citizens' opinions and suggestions can be reflected in policy."
