Mapo-gu Improves Public Transportation in Sangam-dong and Mangwon-dong with New 8775 and 7716 Bus Routes

Connection Between Urban Railway Stations and Hangang Bus Mangwon Pier

Mapo-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Park Kangsoo) announced that, as a result of requesting new bus routes from the Seoul Metropolitan Government to improve public transportation accessibility in Sangam-dong and Mangwon-dong, two new routes?customized bus 8775 and city bus 7716?will officially begin operations starting August 1.

The newly established 8775 bus is a commuter-oriented route that directly connects Sangam-dong and Mangwon-dong. It operates on weekdays from 7:05 AM to 9:50 AM and from 4:55 PM to 7:35 PM at approximately 15-minute intervals.

This route runs round-trip for about 12 kilometers from Sangam World Cup Park to Hangang Bus Mangwon Pier, passing through major stops such as World Cup Park 7th Complex, DMC Advanced Industry Center, MBC, SBS·YTN, Digital Media City Station, Sangam Elementary School, Mapo Agricultural and Marine Products Market·World Cup Stadium, Mapo-gu Office, Mapo-gu Office Station Entrance, (Former) Mangwon Post Office Intersection, and Hangang Bus Mangwon Pier.

The 7716 bus departs from Seobu Transportation Garage, passes through Mangwon-dong, and operates up to Hangang Bus Mangwon Pier. It is expected to alleviate transportation inconveniences for residents in the Susaek-ro area, which has been cut off by the Gyeongui-Jungang Line railway. This route operates from 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM at intervals of 14 to 20 minutes, covering a total distance of 15.7 kilometers.

Major stops include Seobu Transportation Garage, DMC Raemian, Moraenae Market·Gajwa Station, Yeonnam-dong, Hongdae Entrance Station, Seogyo-dong, Mangwon Subway Station, Mangwon-dong Intersection, Mangwon Hangang Park, and Hangang Bus Mangwon Pier.

Both routes are connected to the Hangang Bus Mangwon Pier, making it more convenient for citizens to use the Hangang Bus. Additionally, the existing Mapo 16 village bus has been adjusted to stop at the same station, greatly improving the transfer environment.

Park Kangsoo, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, "With the establishment of these new routes, transportation accessibility in the Sangam-dong and Mangwon-dong areas will be greatly improved. I hope that the seamless connection between urban railway stations and Hangang Bus Mangwon Pier will eliminate transportation blind spots."
