"Expecting Contributions to Regional and National Development"
Pukyong National University (President Bae Sanghoon) has established and officially launched the "Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Relocation Response Committee" in preparation for the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan.
On the 30th, Pukyong National University completed the formation of six subcommittees of experts in the following fields: fisheries policy, fishing industry, aquaculture, marine affairs, seafood, and shipbuilding and marine equipment. The first meeting was held on the 31st.
Pukyong National University is holding the "Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Relocation Response Committee" in preparation for the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan.
The committee is chaired by Vice President for External Affairs Ha Myungshin, with Professor Nam Jongoh serving as vice chair. They will oversee the development of strategies and the identification of policy initiatives.
Pukyong National University, with 18 majors directly related to the marine and fisheries sector?including the College of Fisheries Science and the College of Environmental and Marine Sciences?plans to leverage its expertise to develop measures for education, policy, and international cooperation. The outcomes of the committee’s activities will be shared and coordinated with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and the committee’s operation period may be extended if necessary.
President Bae Sanghoon stated, "The relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan will have a significant impact on both regional and national development," and added, "Through the committee’s activities, we aim to enhance Busan’s status as a marine capital."
