This match was held as part of a nationwide sports marketing project celebrating the 30th anniversary of Genesis BBQ Group, which operates the chicken franchise BBQ. It was FC Barcelona's first visit to Korea for a match in 15 years since 2010. Barcelona started the game with top-tier players such as Robert Lewandowski and rising star Lamine Yamal, taking an aggressive approach from the outset. Yamal and Ferran Torres each scored multiple goals, and Barcelona maintained dominance throughout the match, winning 7-3.
Manager Kim said, "I personally don't feel great because we conceded a lot of goals, but since it was an event match, there were many goals and it was enjoyable to see the fans having fun." He added, "It was challenging offensively, but our defense in the first half was relatively solid as we had prepared. This will help us move forward."
He commented, "Barcelona definitely has a sense of rhythm. They created space and circulated the ball, and when they advanced into our half, they played with speed. We should also aim to play this kind of football."
Regarding Yamal's outstanding performance, Kim praised, "He did well breaking through our defenders in tight spaces. He is a player with speed, finishing ability, and individual skills."
Barcelona manager Hans-Dieter Flick said, "Unlike the first half, there were many disappointing moments in the second half that need to be improved," but added, "Since it is still preseason, we need to further improve the team's completeness."
